Material risks investors should understand

The SID, SAI and KIM contain the complete scheme-specific risk disclosures. Important general risks include:

01

Market and capital risk

Returns are affected by market volatility, political and economic conditions, and force majeure events. Investors may lose part or all of the capital invested.

02

Issuer and credit events

Default, bankruptcy or insolvency of an issuer may affect a scheme. An AMC may segregate affected assets where permitted.

03

Liquidity and redemption

A liquidity crisis or unusually high redemption requests may restrict a scheme's ability to sell assets and may lead to a temporary suspension of redemptions.

04

New offers and scheme closure

New fund offers may involve price-volatility, liquidity and delisting risks. Schemes may be wound up following illiquidity, heavy redemptions or unforeseen market events.

05

Costs, taxation and objectives

Expense ratios, exit loads and taxes can affect outcomes. No assurance can be given that a scheme's investment objective will be achieved.

06

No assured returns

Mutual fund schemes do not assure or guarantee returns. Past performance may or may not be sustained in the future.

Understanding the Riskometer

The Riskometer is SEBI's standardised scale for communicating the risk carried by a mutual fund scheme. It ranges from Low to Very High and must be read alongside the scheme documents.

Riskometer scale showing Low, Low to Moderate, Moderate, Moderately High, High and Very High risk, with locations where investors can find the current Riskometer
Illustrative guide. Always check the latest scheme and benchmark Riskometers published by the relevant AMC.

What it shows

A scheme's assessed risk level based on its portfolio and the applicable SEBI methodology.

What it does not show

It does not guarantee capital protection or determine whether a scheme is suitable for a particular investor.

Why it must be checked

The Riskometer can change as the scheme portfolio changes. Use the latest AMC disclosure, not an earlier illustration.
